Dr. David Attarian is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Medical Director of Duke University Hospital-based Clinics, and the inaugural Chief Medical Officer of the Duke Health Integrated Practice.

Attarian attended Duke University School of Medicine after receiving his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Princeton University. He was an AOA graduate of Duke and completed the Duke Orthopaedic Surgery Residency before serving as Major in the United States Air Force. He was awarded the USAF Meritorious Service Medal. Following his military service, Attarian was appointed the Chair for Orthopaedics and Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Fort Lauderdale, team orthopaedic surgeon for the NHL Florida Panthers, and orthopaedic consultant for the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins, and the US Olympic Diving Team.

Attarian returned to Duke in 1999 to join the Duke Orthopaedic faculty to improve access and help develop the off-campus expansion of orthopaedic services. He is currently Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery. Attarian has received numerous national awards, has published over 100 scientific articles and book chapters, and is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Piedmont Orthopedic Society. He is a Board Member of Project Access of Durham County.

Paul R. Newman is Senior Vice President of the Duke Duke Health Integrated Practice, PLLC, and Executive Director of the Duke Patient Revenue Management Organization.

Newman began work at Duke in September 1994, and was named Executive Director of the Patient Revenue Management Organization in March 2001. 

Newman serves on numerous boards and committees, including as President of the Academic Practice Plan Directors; AAMC Steering Committee on Group Faculty Practice; and as a Board Director of the Durham Casualty Insurance Company.

Newman received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in 1983 and a Masters of Health Administration from Duke University in 1988.
