The Duke Health Integrated Practice, the Duke Department of OB/GYN and Blue Ridge OB/GYN are joining forces to expand Duke’s offering of OB/GYN services in Wake County.
As of November 1, 2018, Blue Ridge OB/GYN’s two locations and seven physicians will be a part of Duke Health, and nearly 30 clinical staff will become employees of the Duke Health Integrated Practice.
“Blue Ridge OB/GYN’s two locations are strategically placed in the fastest growing areas of Wake County,” said Paul Newman, senior vice president, Duke Health Integrated Practice. “We are eager to offer the vast resources of the DHIP and Duke Health to this practice, and to welcome their patients into the Duke Women's Health family.”
Blue Ridge OB/GYN has provided comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services in Wake County since 1952. Providers and medical staff are board certified and highly trained to deliver a wide range of care, including low-risk and high-risk prenatal care and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
In September, Blue Ridge providers began performing deliveries and surgeries at WakeMed North hospital.
“The addition of Blue Ridge OB/GYN, coupled with the recent opening of Duke Women’s Health Heritage, gives Duke a strong presence in northern Wake County,” said Dr. Matthew Barber, chair, Duke Department of OB/GYN. “By extending the geographic reach of Duke Women’s Health, we are able to help meet the growing demand for high-quality OB/GYN services in and around the Triangle.”
As of November 1, these locations and providers will begin using the Duke Epic system and their patients will have access to DukeMyChart.
