We are committed to enhancing our patients’ access to care, and you should feel confident that we are taking the appropriate steps to prepare our environments. Here are approved key messages to share with our patients about how our team is committed to safety while we prepare for this next phase of our response.
Clinic Signage
Sign orders come at no charge to clinics. For those who were unable to complete the order form distributed on April 30, whose needs have since changed, or who wish to order new sign options, please use the below order form. Additional signage is in development and will be added as it is available.
Operational Statements for dukehealth.org
If your clinic plans to change its operating hours, consolidate days it sees patients, or close altogether, please consider which of the following statements best describe your new operations and provide details specific to your clinic and send that information to us.

Notifying Patients of Operational Changes
If your clinic is planning to send a communication to patients concerning a location closure as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, please use the language found in this template.
Please send a draft of your notification to DHIP Communications prior to sending it to patients.

Clinic Signage for Patients and Staff
Sign requests were due in April to be included among the DHIP-wide order. These signs have all been delivered.
If you didn't receive your order or if you need additional signage that your clinic can't print in-house, please contact Alison Aboussleman.
Please note: the only signs that were printed professionally were standing banners, 24"x36" posters, mirror clings, floor decals and exterior signage. All other poster sizes were to be printed by you in your cilnic. The print-your-own signage repository can be found here.
GREEN=CLEAN MAGNETS
Please contact Kim Denty or Jan Fortman to request magnets for your clinic.
Curbside Call-in Signs: these are available for pickup at Creekstone and delivery by courier as needed. Requests must be coordinated with Alison Aboussleman.
Curbside Check-in Signage Suite: these materials are available at Creekstone. Pickup must be coordinated with Alison Aboussleman and Kim Denty
- 24"x36" entrance signs instructing patients to remain in their vehicles and proceed to the curbside check-in area (do not forget to take 2 h-frame stakes for each 24"x36" sign)
- 18"x24" directional arrow signs (do not forget to take 1 h-frame stake for each 18"x24" sign)
- 15-foot flag for the curbside check-in station (do not forget to take a base when you pick up your flag)—only 1 available per buildings that are conducting curbside check-in. Please coordinate this request with Tammy Berry and Kim Denty.
These should have been delivered to clinics May 16-20 to a central point of contact at each building. If your clinic did not receive the items you ordered, please contact Alison Aboussleman.
Stand Here Floor Dots: Orders of 20 or more were delivered to clinics May 16-20. Orders of fewer than 20 were delivered by Kim Denty. If you did not receive your floor dots or need more, please contact Alison Aboussleman and Kim Denty.

This sign is mandatory and must be hung so that it is visible to patients before they enter the clinic and ensures patients cannot take legal action against us if they became infected with COVID while in the clinic, so long as the clinic is following all recommended guidelines for keeping patients and staff safe.
Masking Guidance for Patients & Visitors
This guidance is for patients and visitors who are required to wear a mask while in common areas of Duke hospitals and clinics. It provides reminders in words and icons about hand hygiene and best practices for wearing masks during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Patient Glove-wearing Policy Posters
These posters discourage patients from wearing gloves and provides them guidance on more effective hand hygiene procedures.

This sign informs patients and visitors who have been vaccinated for COVID, that they must still follow screening and safety protocols.

These 8.5x11 posters link Duke Health's "You're Why" campaign with the pandemic by celebrating the choice to wear a mask. It is designed to create a sense of pride in those choosing to wear masks and encourage others to make the same decision.
